Michael Winterbottom’s latest film stars Steve Coogan playing Paul Raymond, a 20th century legend who became known as the “King Of Soho”, the film’s original title. He began his career in show business with a nude review, then moved into publishing with a series of rather racy magazines. Some extremely good investments later, and he was a major property owner in Soho and a force to be reckoned with.

The Brewery were tasked with pulling the streets of 21st century Soho back into era’s that stretched from the 50s to the 90s.  Shop fronts were changed, neon signs were reanimated and CG vintage cars were swapped back onto the roads.

Paul Raymond’s famous stage shows were recreated with the help of the Brewery’s compositors, difficult to shoot elements such as live hungry lions were shot on green screen and put on stage in post.
